We have had an agreement with the au pairs that they take care o
f the immigration fee costs and once that's done we take care o
f the flight cost over and then we go half and half on to trip back.

TV. You can also hook up a laptop to the TV if you want to wat
ch movies or something from it. Finnish TV is not dubbed, so mo
vies are in their original languages. Of course, you can also w
atch TV with us in the living room, your choice. :o)

[ Au Pair Job Description ]
Our days have evolved so that we can tell you fairly accurately
what our days are like. You would take care of children after school three to four days a week and for some hours
Saturdays: Saturday being a work day for us, but shorter. Currently
the grandmothers have been with the children on Wednesdays and
Thursdays. Au pairs have attended Finnish lessons once a week.
Decent English is appreciated. Duties would include playing wit
h the children, supervising their activities and cooking their
meals, driving them home from school, to their hobbies and thei
r friends. Please note you will have to have experience driving
and a valid driver’s license. we have a car for the aupair.
You would share some household chores with the family; thi
ngs a daughter would normally help out with. Our children reall
y appreciate the au pair being active with them as we parents d
o. Smoking is not allowed.

Dear Au Pair,
We are looking for someone to fill in for our current au pair wh
o will be leaving us in July-September 2018. We are a family of
four plus one border collie dog and one cat. We own our own co
mpany, so we will need an extra hand to help out with the child
ren. The children need looking after school hours, so basically
it's some hours from the late afternoon before we come home fr
om work. Their grandmothers also help out actively. We live in
the countryside with many things to do and possibilities for phy
sical activities. We love to swim, do outdoor activities, ride
horses and motorcycles. We have many horse stables in the vicin
ity. Our farm produces wheat and hay. Our house is in the town
of Tuusula, which is a short 30 km from Helsinki. Despite livi
ng in the countryside, or because of it, our area hosts other a
u pairs also. We all speak English, children included. We have
previously hosted five au pairs (incl. current); an au pair fro
m the United States, Thailand, France, the Czech Republic and o
ur current au pair from Canada. We are looking for an enthusias
tic au pair to join our family around August 2018: the children'
s school starts mid-August so we're hoping for you to have time
with the kids and to get acquainted with the surroundings bef
ore that.
Son is a fun loving 10 year old boy who is in the fourth grad
e. He loves running outside, bicycling, riding motorcycles, Leg
os, drawing, video games and playing in general. Daughter is a 9 y
ear old girl and is currently attending Swedish speaking school
as a second grader. She likes riding horses/ponies and motorcy
cles, Legos, dancing, coloring books and learning new languages
. We are in a sense a multilingual family. Both children are ki
nd and eager to learn new things, are fairly easy going and whe
n treated fairly will treat you back fairly also.
I and my husband both work in our motorcycle company. We are 40'
ish.
